De’Ja Armstrong is a writer, visual storyteller, and founder of Girl Meets Film based in Atlanta, Georgia. She is the creator of Stories of The Heart, a Substack publication exploring literary fiction, creative non-fiction, and personal essays. Through her company Girl Meets Film, she has documentary photography and experimental film as the core of its identity.

She is most recognizable for her down-to-earth storytelling. Her work highlights activism, and everyday stories of life, community and family.

In the 2024 she debuted her first experimental film “The Lake, My Love,” at the four-month long group exhibition “30 Summers” at Atlanta Contemporary. She also attended her first Artist in Residence program in 2024 at the Hambidge Center of Creative Arts and Sciences. There she completed her most recent avant-garde films, “Seasons of Self” and “Meditations: A Short Film Series.‍ ‍

She is the creative writer for the first black-owned news and culture publication of Atlanta, The Atlanta Voice, where she contributes monthly to her column, My Voice, My Power.
